Ahh. This has been a giant weekend in the entertainment industry. The VMAs on Sunday brought a ton of stunning stars out & let me tell you, they did not disappoint. Then, the next night, at the Emmy's, the stars dazzled again. So, let's just pretend you were on the red carpet instead of watching it on the tele, who would you have DIED to meet? Leave it in the comments :)
First- Let's have a little VMA breather. So much inspiration in just so little time. It was a big night for film, fashion, music, internet, and so much more. One thing I enjoyed seeing this year was how many people worked really hard to make a statement. Whether it was from recreating the Brittany & Justin look, or having a homeless youth accept their award, the stars were kicking it into high gear. Some of my favorite moments to watch were from the back stage cam. So much happens behind the camera that we don't see. I loved it!
Another thing I LOVED was the fashion sense everyone seemed to carry with them.
I am one of those people who wears the same color of lipstick year round, I minimally change my makeup routine, and I love wearing my hair in a sock bun more than any other hair style. I am more of a fashionista, even though I dress like a hobo most days(Don't tell anyone). BUT, lately I've been really trying to branch out, and push myself to break out of my boundaries with my makeup. I have loved it, too! This summer has been so fun for me, since I've been getting to play around with people's hair and makeup, and I've gotten to try a few tricks on my own makeup as well. So, taking that knowledge, I've had a ton of fun finding my style. So here are a few of my favorite lipsticks.
Nude. This isn't too much of a 'branch out' look for me, but I love this color. Honestly, I've wanted to wear it everyday, but I have been going for a bolder look lately. This nude is from Forever 21, and I'm in love with the little bit of shimmer it has in it.
This lipstick I love to death!!! It's a very chic, very shimmery berry color from Maybeline New York, and I am head over heels with this lipstick! It's actually a lip butter, but it goes on so well. It's so smooth, and it has a really good coverage to it. It's not sticky or cakey, and it's a drugstore product, so it only cost me around $8!
This lipstick isn't really branching out for me, but It's one of my favorites for the summer time. So, I decided to talk about it anyway. This Rimmel London, soft salmon-y pink is so cute with anything I wear, and the coverage is not too overbearing. I love the way this lipstick glides right on. One downfall: It doesn't last all day, so I find myself applying coats throughout the day. But, it's a great lipstick overall.
Thank you all for taking the time to read this post, it means a ton! You all are wonderful, and you never cease to amaze me. Until next time, friends....
